My name is Xiaojing Zhao, and I also go by Coco.

I am a PhD student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where I am fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Han Xu, Prof. Emmanuele Chersoni, and Prof. Chu-Ren Huang.

My academic journey began with a BA in Linguistics from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, followed by a MA in Translation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Shuangzi Pang and Prof. Hai Hu.

My research centers on machine translation and its application in video game localization. More broadly, my work uses computational linguistics to evaluate how language models handle semantic and pragmatic nuance.
